Renovate Your Fireplace

Updated: Jun 19

Many people consider their fireplace to be the heart of their home, and for a good reason!

After years of use, fireplaces can look worn and dated, however, renovating your fireplace can give your interior living space a beautiful statement piece you love and a cozy place to make more family memories.

A renovation doesn't have to be a drastic, multifaceted project. You can spruce up your fireplace with a simple, affordable renovation by updating just one or two aspects to give it a fresh, new look!

Considering a renovation can be overwhelming and daunting, but it doesn't have to be! Our team will be with you from the first meeting through the final installation, and we will be sure to take great care of your home while we're there.

Ready to get started? Here are 5 simple steps that our team uses to renovate your fireplace.

5 Steps to Renovating Your Fireplace

1. Request a Quote

When you request a quote, we will schedule an in-person consultation. If you don't know quite what you're looking for, no sweat!

Our team will assess the size and condition of your fireplace and walk you through what renovating options are possible within your budget.

Each project is unique, and during this stage, we will go over all the possible options to fulfill your vision.

2. Create a Design

After we discuss options, we will help you decide what materials and finishes we we will use to achieve the look and goals that you have.

Here are a few of the options available for a fireplace makeover:

  • Install a gas, woodburning, or electric insert

We have many styles of units to choose from including modern, traditional, rustic, and more. Whatever your unique taste may be, we can find the perfect unit for you.
  • Add a mantle

Depending on the aesthetic you are looking for, we can use several different types of metal, wood, or stone. We are also able to hang your TV above your fireplace.
  • Include a hearth

A hearth is the floor of a fireplace that is typically made of cement, brick, granite, marble or stone. A hearth extends into a room which adds depth and dimension. It protects the floor in front of a fireplace and is the perfect place to put the essential, nonflammable fireplace accessories.
  • Change the facing material

It's incredible how much a different material can transform the entire look of a fireplace. We can use stone, granite, brick, soapstone, or ceramic tile to achieve the look you're going for.

3. Schedule a Date for the Remodel

Next, we will schedule a date for your fireplace renovation.

Before setting a date, we'll explain what you can expect. This includes the project timeline, estimated cost, and what space we will need during the build which all depend on the extent of the project.

4. Construction

It's finally time to make your design come to life!

When entering your home, we use shoe coverings and tarps under our work area to ensure that we leave your home in better condition than when we came.

5. Enjoy your New, Custom Fireplace

Finally, your renovated fireplace is ready to enjoy.

Don't forget to give your beautiful fireplace the maintenance it needs to function properly and continue looking its best.

Applying some elbow grease and DIY magic to your house can really help you feel at home. However, renovating your fireplace is more complicated than painting, creating a new piece of furniture, or adjusting your decor.
